Among the various spiritual programs conducted within the Diocese of Galle, Sri Lanka  during "The Year of Priests" i.e annual retreat, monthly recollections, priest & religious spiritual sessions, workshops, religious pilgrimages take prominence. To coincide with these programs, most of the priests headed by Very Rev. Fr Nihal Nanayakkara, the Administrator of the Diocese of Galle visited and participated at different spiritual programs at the Shrine of Mother Mary at Velankanni and the Shrine of St Thomas the Apostle in Chennai, Basilica where the Holy body of St Francis Xavier lies, the house & the church of Blessed Joseph Vaz (the Apostle of Sri Lanka) in Goa in India. Very Rev.Fr Niahl Nanayakkara, the Administrator of Diocese of Galle along with Rev. Priests and  Mr Udeni Thudugala, the Director of Skyline Travels (who organized the pilgrimage) on a courtesy call with Most Rev. Dr. FILIPE NERI FERRAO, the Archbishop of Goa and Daman  when on pilgrimage to India on 12th to 17th of  April 2010.
